kevan hoertdoerfer has over thirty years of experience in the highest quality residential, commercial, and institutional design and construction. Residential projects have ranged from modest affordable housing units to large custom homes. He has actively participated in the planning of several new communities and recreational facilities. Projects have been constructed throughout the United States.
Academically Kevan has been a guest lecturer at Clemson University and the College of Charleston. Previously the founding principal of a design / build firm, Kevan was an assistant professor at Yestermorrow Design / Build School in Vermont and remains a licensed home builder and an accomplished craftsman. He has been a member of the National Association of Home Builders.
In 2000 Kevan founded Publiccity, a Non-Profit organization geared towards the awareness and creation of public space. Ongoing projects have been part of the Spoleto Festival in Charleston and publiccity has been featured in numerous magazine articles on public art.
Our design approach is different than other architects. This will manifest itself in a variety of ways: in our process of design, our knowledge of building and our approach to the construction, and our craftsmanship in detailing.
